Mountain Biking For a change of pace from four legs to two wheels Vista Verde offers a variety of mountain biking opportunities. Steve King is the lead guide and has developed a very extensive program involving instruction in the Terrain Park as well as adventurous single track or Forest service road rides. Steve s background in Wellness and Fitness gives him a greater understanding of our guests needs and abilities. His enthusiasm for the sport is contagious and is shared by the other guides, including his wife Kelli. Steve and Kelli have been leading adventures at our dude ranch for over 10 years. Biking Trails These are the Rocky Mountains after all, and we therefore have some awesome biking trails and trips lead by our energetic guides. For those of whom this may by a new adventure, we can access scenic four-wheel drive roads in the National Forest. These roads are terrific for learning the basic skills of this kind of biking. For those looking for more of a challenge, they have a number of singletrack trails for your mountain biking thrills. As with all their adventures, the ride is geared towards your ability as well as desires. Want to pack a lunch and ride all day? Okay? Just a short ride down the road? They'll do that too. The Bike Fleet and Terrain Park Mountain Bikes - The Vista Verde mountain bike fleet is updated yearly. This way they stay up to date with the technology changes and feel confident their guests will be on great performing equipment. Their fleet of Jamis bikes all feature dual-suspension and disc brakes. Terrain Park Built with the idea that not all guest enjoy the aerobic aspect of mountain biking, Steve created all sorts of fun technical challenges without all the climbing for their guests to try out our mountain bikes. This is a great way to start off your mountain biking experience at Vista Verde, or to take it to the next level for experienced bikers. Steve and his guides will teach you how to ride each obstacle and keep it safe, while having fun.
