Hands-On Nature Activities & Education in Durango
Since 1994, DNS has brought hands-on nature, science, and environmental education to the Four Corners.
DNS owns and operates its own 140 acre Nature Center along the Florida River. It is used as a learning laboratory for our school programs and a community resource for other programs. Over 8,000 people visit it each year.
Durango Nature Studies is a model for providing standards-based environmental education in partnership with school districts in Southwest Colorado and Northern New Mexico. Each academic year, DNS provides experiential learning to more than 4,000 students throughout the region.
